It Must Be Full Moon.

The first full moon of fall is the occasion of a huge festival in Vietnam. For many days ahead of time there are decorations being put up and moon cake stands popping up thicker than fireworks stands on Fourth of July in Texas. O. and I braved the crowds downtown. There wasn't really much happening, just lots of people milling around, enjoying the warm evening. Now that the weather has started to cool off slightly, the evenings aren't bad.

The traffic was wild, even by Hanoi standards.

Everyone was in a good mood.

Even a little giddy.

Definitely some trappings of Halloween creeping in. I even saw a few people in witch hats, etc.
