The North Wind Doth Blow. (But We Shan't Have Snow.)

The weather has has been moderating somewhat for the last few weeks. Still pretty hot during the day most days (mid-to-high 80s), but less humid and certainly cooler at night. Downright pleasant, in fact. So our electricity bill dropped from $45 last month to $25 this month since we've been running the air-con less.

But today, we had the first cold north wind out of China--traditionally the sign of the onset of winter here. A lot of people are wearing jackets on the streets. For us, of course, it's perfect. The humidity is way down. The daytime temp is in the mid 70s, night time mid 60s, and, best of all, the air is noticeably less polluted.

To make up for it, people are burning their monthly offerings, but that's temporary. We're told that true winter here is damp and misty, so we're enjoying this lovely weather while we can.

who said true winter is damp knows nothing about the winter.
It will be very dry, we often call it dry season in stead of winter (you will see). There will be less rain during this season, and of course, no snow lol.
