A Chilling Portent.

Turns out the Obama disco was just the tip of the commie iceberg. Now that our eyes are open, we see signs of creeping socialism everywhere:

Several of the main thoroughfares sport lovely neon decorations, year-round. There are colorful Christmas lights and a cheery snowflake on one block, a beautiful, stylized peony on the next, then the hammer and sickle, then another snowflake. Kind of random, but cool.

Then there's this guy.
(Note the Vietnamized spelling.)

And the usual statues of sturdy, militant proles.

Just a preview of Obama's America, folks.

Any idea what the three-pronged implement is?

No idea, but it's depicted on several statues here.

I have to admit that I am sort of a sucker for Soviet posters and statues. I often like them better than our decadent bourgeouis statues. Such as Robert Graham- http://www.robertgraham-artist.com/catalog/main.html

Steve--I agree. There are many shops here that sell nothing but old propaganda posters. Some are quite graphically powerful. I think we will probably buy one before we leave.
