There Goes the Neighborhood.

Looks like we're getting out of here just in time. Overnight, several families of construction workers have moved into the formerly vacant lot just outside our front gate.

In hours they had built a wooden sleeping platform and erected

the usual striped plastic tarp tent over it.

By the next day they had put in an outhouse and dug a trench

to the storm drain. A couple hours later it was piped and cemented over.

Now they're washing up, cooking, cleaning dishes, and doing their laundry.

Next they'll be building whatever they're building at all hours of the day and night. I feel sorry for our landlord who will now have a very hard time renting the place, I suspect.
